Several exciting opportunities has arisen for vacancies within the ED Department at the Homerton Healthcare. If you want to work in an environment which is fast paced, you enjoy working with members of the public and being part of a team, then working as an ED Receptionist is the job for you.

You will be the first point of contact and will need to have a strong emphasis on customer service and patient experience. Strong IT skills are essential as this is an exciting and important role within the service. You will be a team-player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

A working knowledge and experience of using an appointment system would be an advantage. You will be required to have an excellent telephone manner with good interpersonal skills, a flexible approach to duties, friendly, helpful, able to prioritise and organise your own workload. You need to be comfortable working in an ever-changing environment and be able to retain your focus on providing an excellent service to patients, staff and external stakeholders.

Comprehension and knowledge of the data protection and equality & diversity Act are required as well as a good standard of general education as indicated in the person specification.

**The main duties of the role include**:

- General reception tasks
- Booking/cancelling appointments
- Answering the telephone
- Maintaining up-to-date records and data
- Liaising with patients and other members of staff
- Working under the team leader of A&E

**Working hours**: 37.5 per week including weekends & Bank Holidays
