The Centre for Medical Informatics at the Usher Institute within The University of Edinburgh is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work with an interdisciplinary team of researchers on the implications of artificial intelligence (AI) for healthcare practitioners, practices and organisations.

**The Opportunity**:
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work on an exciting research project examining the implications of artificial intelligence (AI) for healthcare. The project focuses on the real-world effects of AI on clinicians (e.g., tasks, roles, skills, expertise), practices (e.g., diagnostic workflows, care delivery pathways) and the healthcare system.

The two-year, full-time position offers an opportunity to work closely with Dr Luciana D’Adderio (the project’s Principal Investigator) and her extended multidisciplinary team including experts in the Social Sciences (Business/Management, Organization Science/Studies, Information Systems, Healthcare Innovation), Artificial Intelligence and Medicine.

Your skills and attributes for success:

- Applicants must have completed (or be close to completing) a Ph.D. in Business, Management or related social science discipline (e.g., Sociology, Science and Technology Studies).
- Applicants must have completed (or be close to completing) a Ph.D. in Business, Management, Organisation Theory or related Social Science discipline (e.g., Innovation, Science and Technology Studies, Information Systems, Sociology)
- Experience of or willingness to engage in interdisciplinary academic teams and activities as well as with a range of stakeholders, including industry and government partners
- Designing and conducting empirical qualitative research including collecting, managing and analysing data from ethnographic observations, interviews and focus groups.
- Excellent academic record and work ethic.
- Excellent organizational and oral/written communication skills.
