The School wishes to appoint an Examinations and Assessment Co-ordinator to work within a committed and enthusiastic team where you will play a key role in contributing to the co-ordination of assessment within the School of Medicine to maintain academic standards and enhance the quality of the student experience. Under the supervision of the School of Medicine Assessment Lead you will support the role of the assessment subcommittee in setting, analysing and interpreting student performance against expected standards.

You will bring to the role a commitment to assuring and improving the quality of assessment practices in accordance with national standards, regulatory bodies, benchmark statements and the higher education qualifications framework. Taking responsibility for our examinations software you will work with colleagues to implement policies, procedures and produce reports for both internal and external scrutiny.

You will hold a range of GCSEs, including English Language and Maths at Grade C or above or appropriate equivalent experiential learning.

Experience of assessment and examination is desirable as well as an understanding of safeguarding and its importance with the School of Medicine. You will also have experience of working to consistently provide quality service and solutions and an understanding of how to measure performance against targets.

Utilising strong communication and organisational skills you will have an ability to multitask and organise others as well as deal with confidential and sensitive information.

Applicants need to meet all essential criteria on the person specification to be considered for interview. This position is based in Preston with some travel to the Universities’ other campuses.
