The post holder will be working with a team of Consultants, Specialty Doctors, Trust Doctors, Specialty Trainees, Core Trainees and Foundation Trainees. Each post has a generic clinical component which will include outpatient clinics, ward cover, specialist in-patient reviews and procedures, audit and research. The duties of this post will mirror that of the current middle grade SPRs. It is not a Royal College recognised training post and does not carry a national training number.

This is a clinical fellow post that will give the successful applicant experience and training in all areas of cardiology. There will be yearly in house assessment and the trainee will be expected to complete competency assessment and feedback in the same manner as a training spr

**Duties of the job will include**:

- Dealing with acute and urgent admissions at the Royal Stoke as part of an on call commitment
- Outpatient attendance
- Assisting with the in-patient management of patients.
- Attending a formal cardiology education programme and conferences as appropriate to level of seniority and training requirements

Our 11,000 strong workforce provide emergency treatment, planned operations and medical care from Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital in Stafford. We are the specialist centre for major trauma for the North Midlands and North Wales. In aiming to achieve the highest standards in clinical care and research, the Trust strives to recruit the best people.

UHNM is a tertiary centre for cardiology, it has 3 state of the art cardiac catheterisation laboratories provding primary PCI, complex cardiac devices, complaex electrophysiology and structural cardiac intervention (including TAVI, transcatheter valve repair,PFO closure, ASD closure and paravalvular leak closure). The department also provides advanced cardiac imaging (including cardiac CT and MRI) and our expanding electrophysiology service includes complex 3D mapping, AF ablation, (convergent is developing) and VT ablation. We have an award winning heart failure service. We are a level 2 centre for grown up Congenital heart disease with strong links to the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham.

**Main Responsibilities**:
Doctors who have completed their basic medical degree (MBBS) and the Foundation Programme or equivalent (currently holding full GMC registration), or 3 years of overseas continuous clinical experience post-qualification meeting the requirements on the Medical Training Initiative (MTI) scheme as per the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges (AoMRC) / post Professional Linguistic Assessment Board (PLAB) test passed with General Medical Council (GMC) registration (more junior resident)

Doctors who have attained specialist status in any of the medical specialties and seek further specific experience and research opportunities (established practitioner)

We are looking for the highest calibre and quality doctors. Such doctors are seeking to gain further experience, skills escalation, career progression and higher qualifications. The terms and conditions of employment will be exactly equivalent to a UK NHS doctor of the same grade. The NHS will pay their salary and their remuneration will be exactly the same as an equivalent UK doctor.
