An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive, self-motivated and experienced nurse to further develop their management skills and provide clinical and professional nursing leadership to the Adult out-Patient Outpatient team, and the phlebotomy team at St Lukes Hospital.

We are looking to appoint a dynamic and skilled individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide visible nursing leadership, with an ability to positively influence clinical pathways and an understanding of the issues and challenges associated with delivering patient care in outpatient environments.

You must be enthusiastic and passionate about delivering high standards of patient centred care and be a professional role model for the areas of responsibility; ensuring patients receive a positive experience in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team.

It is essential that you have a good understanding of the challenges in relation to the areas of responsibility and the skills required to support patients, families, carers and staff. You must also demonstrate excellent organisational skills, an understanding of change management processes, and the ability to inspire, lead and develop a team.

**Requirements**:

- Registered Nurse on the appropriate part of the NMC register
- Post registration experience at band 6 (minimum of 2 years)
- Teaching and assessing qualification
- Evidence of current CPD

Clinical, Quality and Safety

Direct fundamental and advanced nursing duties within Trust policies, procedures and guidelines reporting to the General Manager (GM) and providing feedback regarding issues or concerns

Leads the team in promoting infection control, environmental safety and risk management

Actively promotes the effective and economic management of resources available

Leadership

Establishes clear, positive and credible leadership within the clinical team

Develops clinical policies, protocols and clinical pathways and evaluates the patient outcomes.

Leads the department meetings.

Actively participates in the recruitment, selection and retention of staff.

Education

Takes responsibility for and directs teaching, supervising, mentoring and assessing all grades of staff

Undertakes and directs relevant clinical and management/leadership courses to continuously develop specialist knowledge & skills of staff

Creates and maintains a learning environment and promotes a learning culture for all staff and students promoting the use of E- learning whilst providing evidence of achievement.

Research

Responsible for the implementation of evidence based nursing care.

Facilitates the opportunities and abilities of staff to investigate practice using the appropriate methodological approaches.

Leads the R&D developmental plan for the department in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

Initiates, leads and co-ordinates clinical audit.
