As a charity, we rescue, rehabilitate and rehome hundreds of neglected and abandoned animals each year. We need you to ensure that we give as much care and attention to our people as we do to the animals within our care

We are looking to recruit a Community and Events Fundraiser to raise the profile and awareness of Woodside and increase income through developing and securing a range of funding streams including individual supporters, events, community, and digital fundraising. The post holder will help to develop and ensure the effective delivery of the community fundraising strategy in relation to generating sustainable income from third parties, brand campaigns and events.

The role will help grow our portfolio of events, working collaboratively to explore ideas and launch new initiatives to help us achieve our mission. The role plays an important part in helping us to meet our fundraising targets by increasing participation and community engagement in our events and fundraising activities.

Salary £26,800 FTE, £17800, prorata

**Job Purpose**

The Community and Events Officer will provide expertise in all aspects of community and events fundraising to deliver outstanding aspects for Woodside RSPCA Leicestershire, Peterborough and Rutland.

Striving not only to maintain but to also drive and go beyond compliance expectations, both internally and externally, to ensure that not only are our values upheld but that we are compliant in everything that we do.

Whilst ensuring that our animals are the focus of our service, the post holder will continually review, maintain and improve where necessary to uphold the charity’s high standards and ensure that all levels of the charity are maintaining and working within current regulations and guidelines set out for the charity.

**Role Responsibilities**
- Assisting in the development and delivery of a comprehensive annual community and events plan, including: community fundraising, school and social group activities and RSPCA Woodside events programme.
- To develop and deliver an outreach and engagement plan, involving the Community Champion volunteers, to build relationships with local schools, community groups (i.e. Freemasons, Rotary Clubs, WI, Scouts and Guides, etc.), faith groups, and other local organisations.
- Recruiting, managing and stewarding community and event volunteers.
- To act as the first point of contact in the Community & Events Team and provide ongoing support as they undertake their fundraising. This includes but is not limited to, responding to enquiries, providing timely support and advice on all aspects of fundraising, relevant best practice rules and fulfilling requests for fundraising materials.
- Managing and organising on all organisational events.
- To contribute to the day-to-day management of the income and expenditure budget to ensure events return a good Return on Investment (ROI).
- To act as a representative for RSPCA Woodside at events in the local community, and events and tours at the animal Centre.
- Ensuring all charity property, materials and resources are managed though our asset register system.
- Liaise with the social media & communications officer to maximise digital fundraising opportunities to create an ongoing revenue stream.
- Managing and organising community fundraising activities such as community groups, educational talks, community fundraising and supporting corporate fundraising activities.
- On occasions during key periods, to attend fundraising events out of office hours in evenings and at weekends.
- Identifying and developing engagement and fundraising initiatives with individuals, groups, schools and other local societies.
- Expanding, developing and managing collection boxes scheme.
- Identifying and managing community fundraising opportunities to generate income and awareness of Woodside.
- Maintain high quality data, making sure information is gathered and recorded in line with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation, ICO and RSPCA Woodside Data Protection Policy.
- Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of your manager or the CEO.
