**Purpose of Role**

The purpose of the role is to;
- Provide and promote person-centred support to Students including people who have a range of mental health needs, learning and physical disabilities.
- The purpose of this role is to enrol students into the College to work alongside them to develop their individual learning plans and choose the course the student identifies. To support the enrolment process with information, advice, and guidance about progression through and on to next steps.
- The post holder will co-produce, co-facilitate and support the range of recovery focused learning opportunities provided by the service for all students attending the College.
- The post holder will uphold the recovery focused culture and philosophy of the college in all interactions and tasks with students, the college team, external partners, family, friends, members of the public and visitors to the college.
- Work effectively as part of a team, undertaking tasks to support and enable people to achieve their maximum level of independence through appropriate physical, emotional, and psychological support including signposting, basic health needs, practical tasks, appropriate communication, and community involvement.
- The post holder will provide mentorship and guidance to support volunteer progression.
- The post holder will support University and Higher Education Institutions placements in the Recovery College and mentor new student placements. The post holder will support successful placements which will be mutually beneficial for all involved. Students placements provide an opportunity for students to work alongside professionals, to see at first-hand how the knowledge and skills they have learned in an academic environment are applied in practice and take this vital experience with them into their final year and beyond into employment.

- This role requires a Recovery Coordinator who can work as a member of a team and on their own initiative. It is essential to be recovery focused, friendly, and approachable and able to support the college deliver all aspects of the learning opportunities, learning support and student welfare the college provides. The role demands dedication, commitment, flexibility, loyalty, compassion, and confidentiality.

- To enrol students at the college, working alongside them in a recovery focused way to support them to complete their own individual learning journals and course choices which suit their own learning goals.
- To identify any learning support needs from an educational, physical, and mental health prospective, recording this accurately on enrolment documents in a timely manner.
- To provide information, advice and guidance about the student pathway, progression through the college and plans for next steps.
- To participate in and contribute to the co-production of recovery focused, self-management courses within the service offer, including creation of session plans, schemes of work, associated course resources.
- To co-facilitate learning courses offered in the college according to timetable commitments, ensuring the co-facilitation of learning with internal and external partners and tutors.
- To ensure a recovery focused learning content in each session/course.
- To prepare in advance to co-facilitate with the relevant session plans, schemes of work and course resources, also to prepare environment in terms of meeting and greeting students, and partner tutors to ensure learning is delivered in an effective, safe, responsible and professional manner in all college venues.
