We are looking for a Teaching Fellow in Music Education (Secondary), Teaching and Scholarship track, to provide particular skills and expertise on our programme.
This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
**The Opportunity**:
The post holder will make a key contribution to the design, delivery and development of teaching and assessment in Music Education on the Postgraduate Diploma in Secondary Education. The post holder will have established expertise in Music Education either as a teacher in school or in Teacher Education. We welcome applicants who can bring a critical and creative understanding of the curriculum in Music Education and an understanding of their role in supporting and preparing students in Initial Teacher Education. The appointee will join the Institute of Education, Teaching and Leadership and will make a contribution across the teacher education provision including the suite of Programmes in Primary Education.
**Your skills and attributes for success**:
- Being registered as Secondary teacher with the General Teaching Council of Scotland, or eligible to register.
- Established credibility and experience in Music Education, with a disposition towards collaborative work across the Curriculum.
- Engagement with current policy developments at national level, including the newly launched Anti-Racist framework and the revised Learning for Sustainability Action Plan, and the implications for Curriculum design, Pedagogy and Practice in Initial Teacher Education.
- Demonstrate a critical, informed, creative and scholarly capacity to engage with students using a range of teaching mediums, including virtual learning environments and online platforms.
