**About us**

**Position Summary**

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Kinect North East to appoint a part time functional skills tutor. You will be able to demonstrate innovative and creative teaching as well as have a nurturing approach towards our students.

You will be required to teach, assess and support our students in accordance with national guidelines and standards, review and evaluate student performance and report as appropriate. You will assist in the tracking of learners, plan your own workload, carry out duties in accordance with Quality Systems and Procedures currently in force throughout our provision and the partnering schools we work with. You will be expected to contribute to the maintenance of an efficient and safe environment within the guidelines of Kinect's policies on Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities and other policies.

You will have previous experience of working with young people (KS3/KS4) and possess excellent interpersonal skills, including communication and team building. The job role also requires up-to-date IT skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Specific elements of the role are detailed in the job description. below:
You will be required to work with small groups of no more than 6 students where you will be responsible for the delivery of Functional skills Maths/English as well as being able to manage your classroom which should use the Thrive Approach as an ethos.

Your work is unlikely to be within a traditional classroom setting, and we encourage outdoor learning within our provision. You’ll be expected to think on your feet and adapt to whatever is asked of you.

**Responsibilities**:
Conduct one-on-one or group tutoring sessions with students.

Develop customised lesson plans based on individual student needs/planned curriculum

Provide feedback to students to track their progress.

Utilise effective techniques to create a positive learning environment.

**Experience**:
Previous experience in teaching is preferred.

Experience of tracking students progress.

**Requirements**:
Degree in Education or related field preferred.

Excellent communication skills.

Ability to work with diverse students

Strong organisational skills.

Patience and empathy towards students.

Assessor qualification is desirable.

You will be required to have an Enhanced DBS in place before the position can start

Work Pattern: 2 mornings per week
- 9.30-12.30

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: £18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 6 per week
