We have an exciting new post available in the “ Anaesthetics King Revolution” Our Clinical Director, Katie King has managed to successfully recruit 12 new Consultants in the last 18 months to revamp the department, could you be next for this Vascular Consultant post?
We have 1 WTE post that is available based at Lister Hospital in Stevenage, comprising 10 programmed activities (PAs), 0.96 additional programmed activities and an on-call commitment.
The new Vascular Hybrid theatre is due to open in early summer ’24 and we will be providing the vascular service for our region, both elective and emergency. This post is suitable for those with an interest in vascular anaesthesia but also keen to remain part of the general anaesthetic team. An interest in pre-operative care and pathways, including CPET is desirable. The successful applicant will be part of the general on call team, which includes obstetric care.
The post is suitable for a consultant with an interest in General An a esthesia, Vascular An a esthesia and Perioperative Medicine.
The post-holder will be expected to work-up complex surgical patients in the perioperative period and be familiar with the use and interpretation of CPET. The post-holder is required to be skilled in all aspects (elective and emergency) of vascular an a esthesia undertaken at ENHT; to include, endovascular & open an a eurysms, carotid endarterectomy, limb revascularization procedures and renal access surgery. The post-holder should be confident in regional an a esthetic techniques to facilitate surgery if this is of benefit.
The post holder will be expected to be flexible in their approach to working patterns, undertaking clinical work on any site when required. A strong commitment to the training and education of trainees and other staff members is also expected.
