General Description
Responsible for developing strategy, tactics, sales plans and profit targets. Managing the company’s sales and marketing activities by setting short, medium and long term goals. Manage and co-ordinate day to day sales activities, personally, and through Business Managers and their associated teams.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for creating and delivering sales strategy for the company.Developing strategy, tactics, sales plans and profit targets.Identifying and reporting on business opportunities in target marketsActing as an ambassador and role model for our businessTaking responsibility for profit and lossIncreasing market share in existing markets and maximise new business development opportunities.Achieving targets for revenue, profitability and sales growth.Provide direction to the whole sales department.
Creating & Developing Future BusinessResponsible for the effective launch through the Sales force of new products, including profit generation and defining level of focus for product.To grow the business by firstly improving our project and specification win rates.Ensure that wholesale business grows and that we increase year on year our market share.Develop a strategy and plan of attack to grow business with key accounts/large contracting groups and wholesalers e.g. Kier/CEF and establishing national deals. Also to develop work with blue chip end users.
Monitoring/Reporting/ Assessing
To set the global sales forecast for the coming year in line with the companies objectives for each sales area to include customer groups and product sales performance.
Financial Budgeting & Control
Directly control the selling expense budget. Approve spending within limits and support all capital expenditure requests with a business plan where applicable.
Recruiting
To ensure staffing levels are acceptable and recruit directly through web-based recruitment sites, social media i.e. Linked In etc or through a recruitment agency.
Training
Effectively manage the Sales organisation ensuring that the necessary skills are in place to meet the strategic needs of the business.
