Bakery Driver

**The Company**

Bakeri Baltzersen is an established wholesale and retail bakery operation that is part of Baltzersen’s, and is based 7km outside Harrogate at Springfield Farm on the A59 near Menwith Hill. We bake a range of long fermented sourdough loaves, rye, ciabatta and more traditional yeasted white and granary style loaves/rolls. We also bake pastry and vienoisserie from scratch.

**The Role**

We are looking for a relief driver (potentially 2) to help cover holidays and sickness within our permanent packer and driver team. With a team of 10 we have someone on holiday most weeks of the year so there will be plenty of shifts available.

The shifts run from 00:01 to 09:00 and we deliver 7 days a week so there is flexibility to pick up days across the week.

Duties will include:
A couple of hours spent helping to finish packing products for delivery.

Driving and delivering to our partners (we have 4 vans out delivering each day)

Other duties as required by the bakery manager.

**Early Start Early Finish**

Baking is a process that happens overnight so we can get bread and pastries to our partners and customers as fresh as they can be. With this brings early starts for you as a driver at Midnight. You need to be the type of person that can be relied upon to get into work - sleeping through your alarm is not an option.

**Packing**

We have a packing team that arrive before you but you should expect to spend the first couple of hours helping to finish picking items and then loading your van ready to depart.

**Driving**

We have a range of vans all under 3 years old that are a pleasure to drive and most of the deliveries are complete before traffic starts getting busy.

The routes are 95% regular wholesale customers, with the odd retail drop depending on days, so you'll soon learn the pattern of drops.

**Transport**

The location of the bakery and the times of the shifts mean that you need to have your own transport to get you to and from the bakery. Public transport is not an option.

**Pay**

The basic rate for this role is £12.22/hr.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: Up to £15.22 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 40 per week
