Sharing Voices Bradford (SVB) is an award-winning community development mental health charity. We work with people from Black Asian Minority Ethnic (BAME) and White marginalised communities living with mental distress to enable recovery and facilitate the development of appropriate and responsive mental health services.

We are seeking an individual with a proven track record of impactful mental health service delivery who has an in-depth understanding of BAME mental health issues in Bradford.

You will be required to build understanding of mental health and establish better links between the community/faith sector and the wider statutory, voluntary and community sectors.

We seek an enthusiastic individual with experience of working with young people living with mental distress and emotional well-being issues; particularly black Afro-Caribbean young people from the city.

You will be responsible for managing a case load of referrals and carrying out assessments along with providing a structured support programme for young people experiencing mental health challenges.

Your main duties will involve:

- One to one support to young people through regular telephone consultations or face to face meetings.
- Carrying out initial assessments to identify the specific needs of young people from the black community.
- Organising drop-in sessions and co-ordinating the development and delivery of the referral pathway.

Knowledge and experience of working with young people is essential.

**The post is a fixed term contract and will be reviewed on a consistent basis.**
