**A Bit About Us**

Destination Florida organises life enhancing biennial trips to Florida for around 72 children from across the North of England. Lasting for eight days, the children are given the opportunity to visit all the major theme parks, including Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. They also have a relaxing and team building day involving time in the hotel pool, a shopping trip and watching a show, plus a final night party with entertainment.

The children who are invited to join a Destination Florida trip are dealing with medical issues every day of their lives. The charity donates much needed sunshine into children’s lives by providing an environment where they are supported and cared by teams of medical staff and helpers.

We rely very heavily on our fundraisers and supporters to raise the monies we need to be able to take our children. Holding multiple events throughout the year for our community and encouraging supporters to raise funds on our behalf.

**Job Overview**

As a charity event coordinator, you will be responsible for growing our community fundraising pipeline and building on our relationships with; community organisations; education groups; individual fundraisers and local corporates. The role is also responsible for generating positive external communications with fundraisers, sponsors, and the public.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Community Engagement
- Identify new and develop existing relationships with community supporters, to build a community fundraising income, which will support our two-year strategy.
- Actively network to represent and promote awareness of Destination Florida Children’s Charity in the community, to help identify opportunities for additional support and maximise awareness of our work.
- Assisting with events.
- Represent Destination Florida at supporter and community events, receiving donations and delivering presentations about our work and our impact.
- Develop excellent links and networks with all our volunteers to encourage a culture of fundraising, celebration and team working.
- Help create a portfolio of corporate engagement opportunities.

**Additional Requirements**
- Be willing to travel within the area and the community we work within.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.
- Ensure value for money and best use of resources in all activities related to the post.
- Act as a ‘brand ambassador’ to promote the correct use of the brand both internally and externally throughout all forms of communications.
- Good IT skills including Excel and Databases.
- Strong organisational skills, able to work on multiple tasks and prioritise.

**Person Specification**
- Ability to manage self remotely and initiate tasks.
- Self-motivated and positive attitude with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise in a busy environment.
- A creative and lateral thinker. with a flexible attitude to changing priorities and environment.
- Focused, ambitious and results driven, with a readiness to seize new opportunities.
- Driving License required
- Monday - Friday 9.30am - 4.30pm

**Salary**: From £21,250.00 per year
