**Job description**
Optalis is the adult social care delivery partner on behalf of Wokingham Borough Council and the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead Council. Optalis is owned and funded by the 2 Councils. Optalis is not a private provider or an employment agency.
**Accounts Payable - Full Time Maternity Cover 12 months**
The Accounts Payable role is responsible for the financial, administrative and clerical support of Optalis. Overseeing making payments owed by the company to suppliers and other creditors, paying invoices or bills, and recording the company’s short-term debts.
This role is vital for the smooth functioning of the company. This role also oversees Transport for the Services. This includes working with the services to understand transport requirements and working with our leasing companies to fulfil these requirements.
**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- Post business transactions, process invoices, verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records
- Monitoring the Finance inbox, incoming calls and post
- Provide other clerical support necessary to pay the obligations of the organisation
- Undertake bank transfers and reconcile company credit cards
- Ensure the accuracy of an organization’s financial documents for payment, auditing and tax purposes
- Clarify any questionable invoice items
- Assemble and review invoices to be completed for payment
- Maintain copies invoices or correspondence necessary for audit purposes
- Obtain proper information and/or data regarding invoice payments
- Check supplier records for any previous payments and assign to correct cost centre for payment
- Verify invoices against purchase orders and ensure goods or services were received before issuing payment to vendors
- Work with Service managers to arrange transport via leasing companies, oversee fuel cards and manage transport relationships.
Agresso experience would be beneficial but not essential along with a proven history of working within a high volume processing environment.
Based in our Head Office in Wokingham although we can also support occasional working from home.
This is a 12 month maternity cover opportunity to start August 23
