Key Purpose
The post holder will be responsible to effectively plan and deliver a comprehensive, dynamic annual audit timetable that supports the performance of all functions in HMP Dovegate. The role is also critical in leading by example to ensure all functions are operating in compliance to their statutory and contractual obligations. This will ensure that all prisoners are treated respectfully and humanely whilst ensuring that staff are fully aware of their accountabilities in delivering a safe, secure and rehabilitative environment.

Key Accountabilities
To maintain the Self-Audit Programme (based on a local risk assessment of Standards). To coordinate the work required to fulfil the audit programme. Provide quality assurance on all aspects of the self-audit process. Undertake agreed Governance based tasks as directed by the G&C Manager or SLT. Manage the administration of rectification of non-compliance alongside the Management and Senior Leadership Team. Undertake agreed internal audit activities and provide written reports and associated action plans. Contribute to successful external visits within remit of responsibility for example Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Prisons (HMIP)
Build and maintain professional working relationships with all relevant internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to HMPPS, Measuring the Quality of Prison Life (MQPL), Independent Monitoring Board (IMB)

Performance and Key Metrics
Contribute to the delivery and achievement of all performance measures, contract outcomes and locally agreed targets including KPI’s/CDIs. Ensure operational and administrative duties, including the collection and maintenance of data are completed in accordance with Prison policies and procedures.

General
Comply with all policies, procedures and legislation applicable. When dealing with workplace concerns ensuring that all grievances are reported to your line Manager and resolved in accordance with the applicable Dispute Resolution Procedures. Commit to personal training and development to ensure that your skills and knowledge are maintained at the appropriate level.

Essential Qualifications
Minimum GCSE Grade C or equivalent in Maths and English
Knowledge and experience of Microsoft office including Outlook, Word and Excel

Identify health, safety and environmental hazards within their working environment and understand how such concerns must be reported and dealt with.
All incidents must be immediately reported to the appropriate delegate or manager as incidents, hazards, impacts, risks or activities are witnessed or perceived.
Understand and meet where appropriate any legally binding health and safety regulations relevant to the working environment.
Take an active interest in their own development, understanding and implementation of relevant, necessary or desired practices established by Serco or any legal party relevant to Serco.
Identify areas where we need to make improvements and prevent further problems.
