**Job summary**:
The Strategy, Policy, and Climate Directorate (SPoCC) is responsible within UKEF for contributing and responding to HMG strategy and policy developments, oversight of corporate strategy and planning, setting policy, central responsibility for UKEF’s approach to Climate Change matters and Sustainable Development Goals, and engaging internationally in UKEF’s capacity as an ECA.

Within the Strategy, Policy and Climate Directorate, the Information and Governance division leads on three major areas:
1) Governance

2) Knowledge and Information Management

3) The SPoCC Office

**Job description**:

- Governance - Senior Advisor_

The Strategy, Policy, and Climate Change Directorate (SPoCC) contains six functions which all have strategic importance, but all have a very different brief. The variation in the briefs, the number of people in the directorate and the need for efficiency and pace in the strategic priorities means that a strong administrative function is needed to support the Directorate. This is where the SPoCC Office comes in.

This role will be central in supporting the Director to ensure that clearances are sought and given at pace; briefings are researched and drafted as needed for meetings and speaking events; that the directorate’s teams collaborate generously and efficiently; and that the directorate is working efficiently and effectively across UKEF, and cross-Whitehall in line with departmental priorities.

The role is critical to providing secretariat duties to various Committees, primarily the Executive Committee and the Export Guarantees Advisory Council. You will be working in a high-performing team with a mix of secretariat duties; information management; corporate reporting; commissioning and collating papers; liaising across the Directorate, Department, and sometimes cross Whitehall; drafting very short briefing notes; and with some line management responsibility.

**Person specification**:

- Own the day-to-day information risk management for UKEF as it relates to information and records; ensure new risks to information are understood and managed; and prepare and develop the overall information risk policy and assessment process for UKEF and keep it current and relevant.
- Working with Head of SPoCC Office to support the team on secretariat duties for Executive Committee, Export Guarantees Advisory Council (EGAC), and other committees; preparing agendas, ensuring papers are collated on time, reviewing papers, briefing the Chair and non-executives; and working with the Head of SPoCC Office to ensure that the Board and EGAC agendas dovetail appropriately
- Assisting the Head of Governance and Information Management with the Governance Statement, Accounting Officer System Statement, Corporate Governance Framework and updating the Concordat and monitoring departmental compliance with Functional Standards.
- Ensure the effective and timely fulfilment of corporate reporting obligations of the Directorate including for example enterprise risk management and information asset registers.
- Assisting the Director in maintaining key stakeholder relationships with the private offices of senior officials across Whitehall. Work alongside offices across relevant HMG departments.
- Providing general support as required across the Strategy, Policy, and Climate Chance directorate.

This list is not exhaustive; you may be required to carry out additional duties according to business need.

**Behaviours**:
We'll assess you against these behaviours during the selection process:

- Seeing the Big Picture
- Delivering at Pace
- Communicating and Influencing
- Working Together

**Technical skills**:
We'll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process:

- A short presentation (this will be on a topic determined by UKEF and will need to be prepared in advance).

**Benefits**:

- Learning and development tailored to your role
- An environment with flexible working options
- A culture encouraging inclusion and diversity
- A Civil Service pension with an average employer contribution of 27%
