**Fixed term, part time (28 hours per week)**

We are looking for a Research Fellow (Bairns Hoose - Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City) with previous research experience in the field of children and young people affected by abuse to join the Social Work Department for a fixed term role of 17 months.

**The Opportunity**:
You will undertake mixed method research, analysis and reporting on the realist evaluations of the Bairns Hoose (Barnahus) Pathfinders in partnership with Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Local Authorities.

This post is fixed term for 17 months from as early as 1 May 2024, ending no later than 30 September 2025.

The post is advertised as part-time (0.8 FTE - 28 hours per week). The post will require local and national travel, and potential international travel for knowledge exchange.

The job involves undertaking research with children affected by maltreatment. This job requires:

- Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) Registration Home Country Criminal Record Check

**Your skills and attributes for success**:

- Experience in undertaking mixed methods research and /or qualitative research.
- Previous research experience in the field of children and young people affected by abuse or involved in social work services.
- Advanced knowledge about the issues impacting on children and young people who have experienced or witnessed abuse or violence.
- Experience undertaking a systematic literature review. Advanced methodological expertise in-how to document, monitor and evaluate mixed method or qualitative research.
