Gcms Analyst

**Role: -** GCMS Analyst (Contract testing)

**Hours: -**Monday
- Saturday (but only 5 working days of that pattern, will change weekly) 37- and 40-hour weeks available.

Russell Taylor Group have two fantastic opportunities for an Analyst and Senior Analyst to join a well-established contract testing company. Our client is looking for individuals who have commercial experience in a laboratory and have experience using GCMS.

**Responsibilities**:

- Undertaking analysis of soils, waters etc using GCMS.
- Prepare standards for calibration and quality checks.
- Reporting analysis results in required time frames.
- Assisting in instrument and method validation.
- Ensuring all analytical protocols comply with the accredited methods.
- Adhere to good lab practise and housekeeping.
- Perform instrument calibration, troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Work to a fast pace and ensure that workload is prioritised accordingly.
- Ensure that stock levels in the lab are up to date and monitored
- ordering any new consumables when required.
- Work with the senior analysts on development and documentations of methods
- Follow H&S Procedures

**The Person**
- Scientific education, ideally Chemistry or equivalent etc
- Previous experience in an analytical/contract testing laboratory
- Previous experience working with GCMS
- Keen work ethos and highly motivated
- Can work independently and as a team
- Excellent attention to detail
