Opteran is seeking to hire a Commercial Associate to join our London team and work on the development of our sales process.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Work directly with the Commercial Director, CEO and COO/CFO to set and execute commercial priorities
- Work with the Commercial Director to advance lead customer dialogues, joining commercial dialogues, working on sales decks, modelling software licencing deals to inform pricing negotiations
- Define and support execution of the go-to-market strategy e.g., customer targets, opportunity sizing, deal modelling and revenue forecasting
- Work with the Commercial Director to advance lead customer dialogues, joining commercial discussions, working on sales decks, modelling software licencing deals to inform pricing negotiations
- Generate customer, market and competitor intelligence to inform prioritisation and development of a robust sales plan
- Input into high level strategic discussions, but also jump into the day-to-day nitty-gritty
- Support commercial operations e.g., OKRs, CRM tools, pipeline analytics, revenue forecasting

**The Company**

Intelligence isn’t artificial, it’s natural. Opteran harnesses algorithms evolved in insect brains to make autonomous machines as robust and efficient as nature.

After 11 years of research and over £20m in funding, Opteran has pioneered a concept called brain biomimicry. We understand how insect brains see, sense, navigate and make decisions, and have re-engineered these biological algorithms onto low-end silicon.

We call this approach “Natural Intelligence”, which is distinct from traditional AI and SLAM because it uses biology and computational neuroscience, rather than data and data science, to solve autonomy.

This is a breakthrough solution in machine autonomy; not only is it small, lightweight and ultra-low powered, it is orders of magnitude more robust and verifiable than alternative state of the art approaches.

**The Person**:

- >1 year experience in a start-up doing sales support (CRM, revenue forecasting, customer / market research) or equivalent
- A proactive and self-driven individual, with the ability to work independently as well as collaborate within a team
- A clear and effective communicator
- Attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Growth mindset
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Some familiarity with excel / google sheets and willingness to learn how to model licence deals
- An interest in deep tech is desirable

**Assessment Process**
- First Round: Take home written case study and competency interview
- Second Round: General discussion and motivational interview with wider team
