Estates Mechanical Craftsperson

To work in accordance with the requirements of HTMs, HBNs, British Standards, Model Specifications and all Statutory Regulations, Codes of Practice and Trust Policies and Procedures. To be prepared to work in hazardous areas taking all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment in compliance with all relevant Regulations and Health & Safety Procedures. Maintain, run and repair complex equipment e.g. boilers, steam boilers, RO equipment, in several areas on the site, chiller plants, air handling plant, air tubes system, fault finding and repair at a complex level for integrated systems e.g.
water, RO water, steam, lifts, etc. requiring a high level of concentration, knowledge and responsibility. Undertake essential repair works and general maintenance activities at the request of the Estates Officer / Estates Manager. To liaise with Estates Officer / Estates Manager regarding plant or equipment failures and to request the supply of goods and/or services as necessary.
Ability to carry out cross trades works including mechanical and building repairs. Undertake faultfinding on systems and equipment. To action planned maintenance schedules under the instruction of the Estates Officer / Estates Manager. Complete all report sheets and test certificates as necessary.
Ensures that all test equipment is maintained and in good condition. Interprets and follows regulations at all times. Immediately notifies the Estates Officer / Estates Manager of any deviation from the regulations. Follows detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
Uses all relevant PPE, tools and equipment within safety guidelines as necessary for the completion of works. Work overtime in order to carry out emergency works and cover for colleagues whilst on holiday or sick.
