Housing Needs Assessor
Our Housing Needs Assessors are a vital part of our Housing team supporting our prospective and existing residents with new assessments, sign-up paperwork and Housing Benefit forms/information.
The YMCA Robin Hood group provides temporary supported accommodation for young people (16 25 years), refugees, unaccompanied asylum seekers, children leaving care and vulnerable adults. Our housing provision in Nottingham provides 24-hour support for homeless young people living in Nottingham and the surrounding areas.
We have seen significant expansion in our Housing Team and are delighted to have internally promoted several members of our team. We are exciting to be recruiting for these roles to complete our team.
This will include:
- Completing sign-up paperwork, benefit forms and other relevant administration.
- Contacting applicants for additional information
- Liaising with a range of external agencies
- Undertaking face to face interviews with applicants, recording all relevant information accurately
- Work with the Tenancy Sustainment Team to ensure successful applicants are accommodated quickly and support the Resident Journey/Pathway.
About You
First and foremost you will be a brilliant communicator; meeting with people face to face every day, you will be able to build quick rapport and engage in conversation to be able to complete the paperwork required. You will need to be sensitive to the circumstances which have brought that young person/adult to our services and give them the support, both emotionally and physically to be able to complete the paperwork.
In order to make your transition into your new role as smooth as possible, if you have previously worked in social housing, adult support or within the benefits system, this would give you an advantage to understanding some of the complexities associated to this area. Knowledge of the benefits systems would also be a huge advantage.
If you are looking to work for an organisation who cares about you and your wellbeing, the YMCA prides itself on the package of wellbeing we support all our employees.
At YMCA Robin Hood Group, you will have many additional benefits, including but not limited to:
- Comprehensive well-being package
- Cash-back private medical and dental policy
- Generous holiday entitlement increasing 1 day each year for your first 5 years
- Regular ongoing training
- Subsidised childcare and holiday clubs
- Workplace pension
- Pastoral support
- Excellent opportunities for development and progression in an exciting expanding organisation.
