**Senior Emergency Response Officer**

**Location: Cambridge (mixture of hybrid, office and community work) Norfolk, Suffolk and Lincolnshire**
**Contract: Permanent**
**Salary: £25,586 per annum based on 35 hours per week**

** A day in the life of a Senior Emergency Response Officer will involve**:

- You will manage the day-to-day delivery of the service across up to 6 six teams of volunteers, covering a broad geographical area.
- Listening to volunteer & service user feedback and making improvements to our ways of working will be an essential part of your role, as will working with external partners to grow and develop our offer.
- You will inspire and empower teams to perform to a high standard, achieving local and organisational team targets.
- Generally, the type of incident our teams respond to most frequently is domestic fires. Occasionally, we can also support with major incidents or emergencies, such as flooding, wildfires, or power outages. We have also provided support to refugees and asylum seekers, in the past providing humanitarian relief to people evacuated from Afghanistan, Sudan as well as Ukraine.

**To be a successful Senior Emergency Response Officer, You’ll need**:

- Experience of maintaining effective working relationships internally, ideally working with volunteers
- Experience of maintaining and developing external relationships with partners and stakeholders
- Experience in delivering on wider organisational priorities alongside day-to-day tasks, or generally in project management
- Experience of creating and monitoring budgets and data
- Strong IT Proficiency & attention to detail
- Ability to contribute to the development of operating plans
- Excellent communication skills at a variety of levels
- Understanding of how to improve service quality for the benefit of user(s) and to develop services in line with needs
- Able to respond to emergency situations, with 24 hour on call duties as required
- Able to work weekends and evenings as required, as well as being on call when required.
