**Salary: £22,315 per annum, based on 35 hours per week (your actual hours worked will be flexible, in line with team demands)**

**Contract: Fixed Term Maternity Cover (12 Months)**

**Driving: Full UK Manual Driving Licence required and access to a vehicle**

Could you see yourself promoting our mission of supporting people in crisis by working as an Emergency Response Officer? We have a fantastic new opening for an Emergency Response Officer to join our team. You will coordinate our Volunteers within the Cambridge and Suffolk area.

**A day in the life of a Emergency Response Officer looks like**:
You will deliver a wide range of activities within the area, including responding to major incidents, fires and floods. You will work as part of the emergency response team to further develop our emergency planning role. You will engage with external organisations and support our volunteers to build local resilience to emergencies. You will coordinate and encourage our amazing volunteers.

The post requires regular evening work, being part of a regular 24-hour duty officer on-call rota. You will potentially have emergency response duties at any time throughout the year. You’ll need to be easily accessible to the location to attend work meetings and face to face events on a regular basis.

**To be a successful Emergency Response Officer you must have the following skills and experience**:

- Experience of delivering high quality services to the public
- Experience of developing or working in multi-sector partnerships at a tactical and / or operational level
- Volunteer Management experience, and the ability to guide and influence others
- Experience of dealing with complex / changing situations and tasks
- Ability to contribute to the development of operating plans
- Knowledge of Health and Safety practices
- Knowledge of legislation relevant to emergency response and planning
- Experience of creating and monitoring data
- Ability to collate and interpret a range of management information including statistical information and user feedback
- Hold a full, current, driving licence (for manual vehicles) with two years driving experience, and have regular access to a vehicle
