As Transport Planner, you will be required to work closely with the Transport Operations Managers and Drivers to ensure the safe and efficient running of our fleet of vehicles. Planning maintenance, repairs and lifting inspections will be your main priority but this role is varied and being able to multitask is a necessary skill.

**Duties**:

- Schedule repairs of daily defects.
- Monitor Drivers daily walkaround checks ensuring that they are carried out during Drivers working time for the Company compliant time frame of 15 minutes minimum and report as necessary.
- Coordinate vehicles for planned maintenance inspections in line with Operator Licence undertakings.
- Analyse paperwork from maintenance providers and action any points raised, demonstrating an audit trail from defect being raised to rectification.
- Ensure all work has been completed, paperwork is received, and the vehicle has been declared roadworthy before any vehicles are collected from a maintenance provider.
- Work closely with the Transport Manager to ensure vehicles are maintained to the highest standards.
- Provide drivers hours to the Transport Manager to ensure the compliance of Driver hours and working time directives.
- Actively manage cost savings and efficiency initiatives.
- Liaise with senior management to develop/improve systems.
- Work closely with the Service Coordinator team to keep them informed of truck breakdowns and any potential issues that may impact on their service.
- Book hotel rooms for employees.
- Order, manage and monitor fuel cards and usage.
- Carry out CCTV checks & gather footage for any incidents.
- Participate in the on-call rota.

Other
- Act as an ambassador for the company, leading by example to promote excellent customer service and compliance at all times.
- Any other duties as required to assist in the effective running of the company.

- Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure.
- Logistical background and experience with route management.
- Ability to think outside the box and work proactively.
- A positive attitude.
- Must be flexible.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Ability to take ownership of tasks, approaching them in a logical way and see them through to completion.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Build and maintain successful working relationships with customers, colleagues, and third-party providers to ensure continued customer service and efficiency.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of driver hours and driving regulations an advantage.
