Job description-EYFS coordinator/Room leader

You as the EYFS Coordinator will lead and manage all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage delivery across all age groups on a day-to-day basis.

You will implement EYFS learning and development requirements including observation, assessment and planning, tracking children’s progress, and safety and wellbeing of children.

About you:

- Level 3 childcare qualified
- Experience of supervising a highly effective nursery team to achieve shared goals and objectives
- Excellent, up to date knowledge of the EYFS framework and regulations
- Experience and proven success in supervising provision and innovative teaching across the Early Years Foundation Stage

You may have experience of the following: EYFS Coordinator, Early Years Foundations Stage Coordinator, Nursery, Early Years, EYFS, Childcare, Child Protection, Nursery Nurse, PTTLS, YET, Early Years Practitioner, OFSTED, Child Development, EYP, Nursery, etc.

Main Responsibilities:

- To be computer literate and able to use word, excel, spreadsheets etc.
- To have a creative mind for displays and support staff with displays and setting up activities
- To ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care and development for children placed in the Day Nursery.
- To ensure the Health and Safety policies and procedures are followed by all staff and users.
- To be responsible for any tasks delegated by the Manager.
- To give support to other personnel within the Day Nursery around planning, assessment, tracking development etc
- To implement the daily routine in the base room ensuring all requirements of the Statutory Framework are being met.
- To act as a key person, providing professional support to parent/ carer and other staff in conjunction with the manager.
- To establish and maintain a safe and healthy environment throughout the centre.
- To be aware of social, intellectual, physical and emotional wellbeing of the children and provide appropriate fun and stimulating experiences to encourage independence and child-initiated learning to take place.
- To participate in curriculum planning and implementation providing an effective learning environment, meeting OFSTED requirements and the EYFS.
- To provide a safe and stimulating environment that makes children, parents/ carers and students feel happy, safe, comfortable and valued.
- As a key person, update allocated individual development records, maintaining confidentiality at all times such as assessment records and children’s Care Plans.
- To undertake appropriate continuous professional development and participate in team meetings such as staff and room meetings within and outside working hours.
- Carry out all responsibilities and activities within an equal opportunity’s framework.
- Administer first aid and administer prescription medication when necessary following set guidelines within the appropriate policies and procedures.
- To work within agreed policies and procedures.
- Encourage parental involvement and support for the nursery.
- To answer doors, greet visitors, parents/ carers in an appropriate manner ensuring identification at all times.
- To give information regarding the day care or passing enquiries onto the manager as appropriate.
- To ensure the base room is tidied and set up for the following session.
- To ensure children/staff/visitors are signed in and out of the building.
- Ensure that all children attending the nursery receive rich and stimulating experiences appropriate to their age and stage of development.
- Promote high standards of quality within the nursery in respect of the environment, resources and experiences offered to children.

- Ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand and, when necessary, follow Safeguarding Procedures.
- Promote and facilitate partnerships with parents/carers and other family members.
- Support the development of good practice with regards to special needs and inclusion.
- Support staff in delivering the Foundation Stage
- Establish, develop and maintain highly professional working relationships with relevant Local Authority Departments, regulatory bodies and other agencies.
- Create and maintain a culture of self-evaluation and reflective practise throughout the nursery.

**Health and Safety**
- Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day operation in order to ensure the health and safety of the children, their parents, carers, the team and any visitors to the nursery.
- Adhere to all health and safety policy and procedures.
- Be fully aware of all emergency and security procedures.
- Be responsible for ensuring the nursery remains compliant in respect of suitably trained staff with relevant first aid qualifications.
