An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experience and trained Exercise Physiologist to perform Cardiopulmonary Exercise Test on inpatients and outpatients.

The post holder will be responsible for organising and conducting cardiopulmonary exercise tests (CPETs) and participate fully in the clinical service and research activities of the Admissions & Pre-Assessment Unit (APU) and Anaesthetic Department. The post holder will work closely with the APU team (nursing, anaesthetic and administrative personnel), as well as referring clinical teams, other hospital staff and research collaborators within the RM and externally.

Under the supervision of the Consultant Anaesthetic Lead Pre-Assessment the post holder will be responsible for:

- Performing Cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPETs) and reporting of tests (clinical and research) to a consultant anaesthetist for interpretation

2.3 Ensure that all documentation relating to CPET is maintained to the Trust standard (including electronic records) and implement clinical audit of records to measure and evaluate care planning.
- Providing specialist clinical advice about CPET testing Trust wide to support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients/ clients and relatives/ carers in collaboration with the multi professional team, in line with the local and national targets.

2.5 Providing sound clinical leadership and developing support mechanisms for sharing good practice within the Department and Trust wide.

2.6 In conjunction with the Clinical lead and Nurse lead for pre-assessment, participate in developing, implementing, evaluating and maintaining a Departmental ethos and a standard approach to the delivery of excellent patient centred care.
