Position Purpose

The Plant Continuous Improvement Lead will be responsible for the continuous improvement implementation within assigned service centres and adherence to Central Supply Chain Excellence CI Team guidelines. This includes developing and implementing 5S & CI plans, programs and initiatives in line with the company’s strategies, goals and creating a CI Culture. The role will also involve coaching and mentoring employees on CI methods and tools, as well as conducting training on CI topics. In addition, they will be responsible for monitoring 5S & CI KPIs and metrics, and reporting on progress to CI Team & senior management.

- Locations - assigned to a primary plant and as required other plants and subco/TPMs
- Lead the certation of a CI culture within the assigned sites
- Delivery of CI Initiatives within the assigned sites
- Monitoring and reporting of 5S & CI KPI’s

Major/Key Accountabilities
- To lead and manage the continuous improvement function within the service centre in order to drive process improvements and operational excellence.
- To develop and implement Continuous Improvement strategies, plans and initiatives in alignment with the organization’s business goals and objectives helping implement a culture of continuous improvement
- Lead the implementation of 5S at the assigned site
- Lead the certation of a CI culture within the assigned sites including:

- Zero Harm - reduction in BIFR and TIFR rates
- Service - reduction DPMO Complaints and increase On Time Delivery to SLAs
- Quality - Increase Pallet conformance to PQS and DPP
- Cost - Delivery of CI Initiatives generating an annual site saving of 3%
- Process Reliability and MTBF increase
- Updating and Progressing Initiatives within Wave
- Responsible for accelerating the rate of change in the organization through the CHEP Operational Excellence program
- Identify barriers to implementation and develop and propose solutions that address both business needs and customer satisfaction
- Share best practices with SCEx CI Team; proactively identify and promote sharing of learnings and best practices across sites
- Assist in the collection of data identifying opportunities and for tracking improvements
- Demonstrate a knowledge of and commitment to Lean manufacturing principles and techniques
- Partner with the Finance and Transformation teams to calculate cost reductions, document savings in the Wave tracking system
- Accountable for tracking all CI Projects and reporting progress to plant staff
- Regular auditing to make sure that all department adhere to the CHEP CI SCEx Program
- Reporting of all activities / progress / findings to the Plant manager but also to Market CI SCEx Team)

**Qualifications**:

- At least 3 years of experience in a relevant business discipline e.g., Operations, Manufacturing,
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification - desirable

Secondary Education, 6 sigma qualification

Project management certification - desirable

Experience
- Previous experience as Continuous Improvement Lead working with cross functional team to deliver change
- Over 3 plus years of direct management experience in a supply chain discipline e.g., logistics, operations, planning, manufacturing
