Newcastle College requires a dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified person to take on the role of Music lecturer (with a specialism in either Music Performance and/ or Music Tech) within the Performance Academy.

For Music Performance it is expected that the applicant will prepare and deliver a range of classes such as Music Theory, Composition, Ensemble Classes, Recital, Live Performance, Instrumental skills and music cultural theory, focussing on music performance repertoire through a range of genres.

For Music Tech it is expected that the applicant will prepare and deliver modules such as Studio Production, Post-production techniques and Applied Audio Techniques and be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills in sequencing, mixing, remixing, and mastering.

There is an expectation that the applicant will also have knowledge and experience of working within a Live Performance and/or studio setting. In addition, the awareness and delivery of Health and Safety legislation, and all aspects of risk assessments relating to Studio and/or Live Performance is essential.

The main responsibilities of the role include the delivery and assessment of our FdA and BA (Hons) high-quality programmes at Level 4, 5 and 6 as well as undertaking a range of cohort leadership, tutorial, and programme administration duties. As a cohort leader you will be responsible for; the tracking of student progress against assessments, student wellbeing and the direct link between learners and parents/guardians. Experience of working with learners on a one-one basis and supporting learners in a pastoral context is preferred.
