Responsible to: SPAN Arts Director

Location: Office base in Narberth but working across the county of Pembrokeshire

**Salary**: FTE £20,830pa (Pro rata £8,927pa based on 15 hours per week)

Hours: Part-time (15 Hrs per week)

Some evening & weekend work will be required

Annual Leave: 5.6 weeks including Bank Holidays

Contract: Fixed term 12-month contract from April 2023 to March 2024, with aspirations to build the role into a core team role long term.

**Main Purpose of Job**

To work alongside the existing PT Digital Marketing and Design Assistant to make a positive and important contribution to promoting all SPAN Arts’ activities and supporting the charity to achieve its ticket sale and engagement targets, increase and diversify audiences and deliver day-to-day marketing duties.

The post holder plays a vital role in a small team and works in close collaboration with the SPAN Director and the wider team to promote the activities of the charity.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

**Marketing, Engagement and Reach**
- Welsh language: to directly support the creation of Bilingual promotion and work closely with translators to ensure the use of the Welsh language in all promotions
- Ticketsolve: Managing SPAN Arts’ online box office system Ticketsolve to ensure that all bookable events and activities are published
- Wordpress: Updating and maintaining SPAN Arts Wordpress website
- Social Media: Taking a lead role in the delivery of our Digital Marketing, including assisting with social media marketing and engagement through the SPAN Arts Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and associated accounts
- Design: In-house design work including adverts, online promotions, and print publicity
- Image bank: Contributing to the SPAN Arts image bank by ensuring strong images with permissions, rights and credits are created to promote the charity
- Rich Media/content: Preparation and/or creation of short film clips to best promote activities
- Print: Liaising with designers and printers regarding marketing materials
- Access: ensuring all promotions are accessible and in line with SPAN’s Equality and Diversity policy in keeping with national campaigns such as #BuildingBackForAll by the Audience Access Alliance
- Listings: Updating events listings online, or coordinating volunteers to complete
- Liaison with the SPAN team artists, promoters, venues, etc to source imagery and information to promote activities
- Distribution: Organising and coordinating the distribution of marketing and promotional information, coordinating mailshots from the SPAN Arts audience and membership databases
- Press and PR: Preparation of Press Releases and liaison with local, national and sector media to secure advantageous rates for SPAN Arts
- Tracking, recording and analysing audience and participation numbers to help us understand who our community are and who we reach

**Reporting and Fundraising**
- Assist the Director in the evaluation reports to our funders

**Training and Development**
- Training will be provided for some of SPAN digital tools on commencement of role
- Training and mentoring will be provided around reporting to funders and fundraising
- Attend internal/external training as required

**General**
- Share learning both internally and externally
- Play and active role in supporting event and projects as needed
- Communicating/speaking with customers and audiences bilingually where necessary
- Taking responsibility for own Health and Safety in the workplace
- Adhering to SPAN Arts policies and procedures, including Equality and Diversity policy
- Attending internal and external meetings appropriate to the role as required.
- Undertaking any other tasks as reasonably requested by the Span Arts Director and/or board of Trustees

**Role Profile**:
You need to be creative, love language and be able to put yourself in the position of others to understand their motivations and needs. You will be persuasive, open to new ideas and able to inspire others to engage.

You must be a fluent Welsh speaker, able to write creatively and fluidly in Welsh and be passionate about engaging Welsh speakers and learners.
