**Exciting Opportunity: Children’s Day Service Activity Co-ordinator**
Are you passionate about creating enriching experiences for children and young people with learning disabilities? Guild Care is seeking a dedicated Activity Co-ordinator to join our Learning Disability Services team. - **Location**:Worthing, West Sussex
- **Hours**: 26 per week, including every other weekend
- **Salary**: £13.38 per hour (£24,346 per annum, pro-rata)
**Essential Requirements**:
- Proven experience in planning and leading activity sessions for children and young people with learning disabilities
- Understanding of the needs of children with learning disabilities and their families
- Knowledge of current best practices in providing care and support to children with disabilities
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with children, families, and colleagues
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and establish positive relationships with stakeholders
- IT literacy, including proficiency in MS Office and databases
- Ability to travel independently within the Worthing and Adur area
- Commitment to safeguarding procedures and willingness to undergo a satisfactory DBS check
**Desirable Skills**:
- Minibus driving licence
- Experience working in an after-school/holiday club setting
- Previous experience working with parents and carers
- Relevant professional qualification
**1. Programme Development**:
- Plan and organise a range of engaging activities for children and young people, ensuring sessions are stimulating and person-centered
- Involve children and their families in co-designing their own programme of activities, focusing on developing independence skills and increasing confidence
**2. Team Leadership**:
- Lead and motivate a team of staff to deliver ambitious standards of care and support in safe and stimulating environments
- Recruit and induct new staff, providing necessary training and support to ensure competency in their roles
**3. Compliance and Quality Assurance**:
- Ensure all services meet contractual and regulatory requirements, including health and safety checks and budgetary targets
- Maintain accurate records for children and staff, including care plans, risk assessments, and medication records
**4. Stakeholder Engagement**:
- Build and maintain effective relationships with children, families, carers, colleagues, and other professionals
- Represent the service at individual reviews and contribute to service quality monitoring and audits
