**About us**:
It is one of the largest cancer trials centres in the UK, with more than 115 members of staff. The CTC conducts clinical studies in oncology, both nationally and internationally, with a cross-disciplinary approach to develop modern treatments such as novel biotherapeutics, and investigate methods of diagnosis. The main cancer types are haematological malignancies, lung, gynaecological, head and neck, brain, urological, and upper and lower gastrointestinal cancers.

Funding comes from a variety of sources, including major charities such as Cancer Research UK and the Lymphoma Research Trust, the Medical Research Council, the National Institute for Health Research, and large pharmaceutical companies. The annual income exceeds £10 million.

The CTC designs and conducts high quality clinical trials, from phase I to phase III trials, with a range of different treatments such as chemotherapies, radiotherapy, surgery and the new generation of targeted drugs including advanced cell and gene therapies.

The CTC also has expertise in cancer screening and early detection, systematic reviews, and large scale genomic and observational studies. Studies incorporate sophisticated translational and correlative science, in order to better understand cancer evolution and heterogeneity, to benefit future patients by better predictions of their prognosis or developing targeted anti-cancer treatments.

The CTC is part of University College London, which was ranked second in the UK for research power by the Research Excellence Framework 2021. UCL is also ranked 8th in the world by the QS rankings.

**About the role**:
This post will jointly oversee Data Managers (DMs) in the CTC, alongside staff from the tumour groups.

The post holder will:

- be the main point of contact for CTC Trial Teams to discuss areas where they need extra cover / support.
- manage the team of centralised DMs/Data Coordinators and allocate to trial teams.
- monitor/ review the situation by means of feedback from trial team leads.
- assist with training of DMs.

**About you**:
The post holder should have a comprehensive knowledge of life sciences, experience in data entry and using databases. Experience of trial closure and archiving requirements for trials would be advantageous.
