Product Designer

**Product Designer**

Due to internal promotion we are looking for a Product Designer to join our team.

As a Product Designer, you'll be at the cutting edge of design, development and manufacture of our exciting range of lighting products. You will be involved in a variety of projects, interesting challenges, and have the chance to work on new and existing product designs.

Responsibilities & Duties:

- Implementing full product design, from concept to manufacture
- Product Design integrating Mechanical design into Led and fibre optic assemblies.
- Design of Fibre and LED optical systems and assembly design
- Design prototyping
- Working to tight timescales and designing to cost
- Questioning, researching, recording, and noting key information
- Working with UK and overseas suppliers to source components and sub-assemblies
- Creation and maintenance of technical files and documentation
- Support the sales team in customer facing activities
- Light testing LED fittings and sources and documenting results
- Complying with company health and safety policy

Skills/Experience/Knowledge
- A degree level qualification in Mechanical Engineering/Product Design or similar
- Excellent IT skills, including strong knowledge of Solidworks & AutoCAD
- The ability to develop a strong understanding of our product range
- Experience in the development, production and testing of electromechanical products
- The ability to read and understand CAD drawings
- Lighting systems development and production engineering experience preferred but not essential.
