**Your role with us**:
We are seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing Buyer to join the Charity’s Procurement team.

You will ensure the Charity’s procurement service delivers the right balance between cost and quality of all procured products and services, delivering continuous value for money, within new business development projects & capital expenditure.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- To ensure all procurement activity is high quality, value driven, pro-active and undertaken in line with the Charity's financial and procurement policies and procedures.
- To work with Procurement, Estates & Facilities and Business Development to support delivery of the strategic sourcing lifecycle for projects and capital expenditure: from supplier selection, terms & price negotiation, tender process management, through to post-contract award, and initial contract mobilisation.
- To work with internal stakeholders, cross-functional departments, project teams as well as key external stakeholder to fully understand the specifications, as well as the technical and commercial requirements of the scope of works.
- To track actual costs against original estimates and budget, and help to identify and mitigate risks to project budgets.
- To source, vet and set up new suppliers to meet the current and future needs of projects.
- To perform spend analysis to identify opportunities and/or ensure optimum value for money is being obtained.
- To review, in collaboration with legal colleagues, contract terms and advise on potential risks, cost drivers and propose acceptable commercial positions.

**About you**:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, being able to quickly build rapport with people.
- With 2-5 years’ experience within a procurement function.
- Proven experience in Strategic Sourcing with track record in managing procurement spend in indirect, projects, facilities or estates.
- Comfortable with a high level of autonomy & decision making.
- Continuous improvement mind-set and with a “can-do” attitude.
- Solid understanding of commercial risk.
- Confident, organised and target-driven.
- Excellent negotiator with the capability to deliver cost reductions throughout the supply chain.
- Ability to engage and clearly articulate direction, plans and opportunities to a broad range of senior stakeholders.
