Role Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure vessels meet Company safety standards for passenger enjoyment and safety.
- Comply with SMS regulations and oversee crew compliance with these regulations.
- Support the Captain in conducting onboard safety training for crew members.
- Safely navigate vessels on the River Thames in accordance with Company plans and regulations.
- Ensure safe mooring of vessels and provide safety announcements for passengers.
- Conduct safety briefings for crew before commencing service.
- Safely embark and disembark passengers from recognized locations along the River Thames.
- Perform daily vessel checks and report maintenance issues as per Company procedures.
- Support the Captain in vessel fueling and ensuring onboard amenities are stocked.
- Maintain vessel cleanliness to Company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide passengers with insightful commentary during sightseeing journeys.
- Promote onboard sales and Company products as directed.

Educational Level/Qualifications:

- SCTW95 Seaman Certificate
- Holds or working towards BML

Experience/Knowledge:

- Experience as Mate of large passenger vessels
- Knowledge of vessel maintenance and engineering

Desirable:

- Use excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) to provide great customer service
- Deliver excellence through profit, customer satisfaction and living our City Cruises values
- Willingness to learn and progress
- Exhibit a professional attitude and act with integrity and empathy at all times
- Excellent problem solving skills and an ability to remain calm and work well under pressure
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills
- Due to the nature of the role, time keeping is very important and the suitable person will be required to attend work on a punctual basis
- An ability to work well under direction and follow the chain of command
- To be flexible in carrying out your duties at any of the Company’s locations, offices or departments and fulfill other tasks that fall within your post as required
- Knowledge of a second language

**Salary**: £26,765.50-£31,719.27 per year
