Job Summary:
To act as the principal point of welcome to theatres and provide a friendly, welcoming, professional, efficient, accessible and bilingual box office and reception service to all customers.

To maximise box office sales and support the achievement of attendance and financial targets

**Duties**:
To operate ticketing sales points and sell tickets in person or over the phone in order to provide an efficient and productive ticket booking service for the public.

To act as the main information and reception point for the theatres, and to operate the telephones, ensuring a professional, customer focused, and welcoming service for all visitors including professional companies, hirers and public.

Ensure a thorough knowledge of all events and activities at Theatrau Sir Gar to give the best possible customer service, responding efficiently to visitor enquiries.

To have an in-depth knowledge of the venue’s computerised Box Office system and online sales technology, and ensure the ticketing sales records are maintained and accurate.

To support marketing activities where required, and support the administrational needs of other departments, within reason, and under instruction of the Box Office Supervisor.

To actively promote offers (including season multi-buy offers), to up-sell and cross-sell Theatrau Sir Gar shows.

To handle all cash, cheque and card and vouchers transactions accurately and securely at the Box Office.

To print and prepare tickets for postage, and to batch print tickets before the performance. To distribute pre-paid and complimentary tickets to customers.

To be responsible for the opening and closing of the Box Office, and ensure the security of the box office is maintained. In the absence of the Duty Manager or Box Office supervisor, to be responsible for opening and closing of the building and for ensuring the security of the venue.

To ensure the Box Office is tidy and well-presented throughout the day. To ensure that print and publicity materials are on display at the Box Office.

To meet Theatrau Sir Gar’s agreed standards of dress and appearance codes.

To strive for continuous improvements in customer care by making positive suggestions for change.

To liaise with touring companies, hirers or event organisers to provide them with sales reports or general information about their time with Theatrau Sir Gar.

On occasion you may be asked to help with other roles within the department, such as assisting the Duty Managers or ushering shows.

To be aware of the fire evacuation and Health & Safety requirements and report any problems to the Duty Manager.

To keep up-to-date on current Box Office practices, attend and contribute to staff meetings, and attend any appropriate training sessions related to the position.

**Job Type**: Temporary contract
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: £11.59 per hour
