To assist the Technical Manager in implementing and mentoring staff on the technical strategy on a day to day basis ensuring that all technical standards, customer codes of practice and food legislation are consistently adhered to allowing all products to be positively released.
- Assisting the Technical Manager with BRCGS, customer and compliance audits and assisting with internal audits
- To assist the Technical Manger in ensuring that HACCP is maintained and monitored within the factory and reflects best practice at all times.
- To deputise for the Technical Manager in their absence.
- To manage and maintain a high standard of general housekeeping in all areas.
- Managing GMP and Hygiene Audits, raising, communicating and closing out non-conformances.
- Monitoring both raw and finished product quality. Reporting of out of specification results back to Production Team and Customers, whilst providing corrective actions.
- Recruitment of staff to operative and technical positions and Induction of same.
- To support production to actively maintain technical standards advising on how to tackle issues that may compromise technical integrity. Liaising with production regarding any raw material quality issues. Ensuring out of specification raw material is quarantined where appropriate.
- To liaise with local authorities on all technical legislation to ensure company compliance as a food manufacturing site.
- Managing the Glass, Hard Plastic & Ceramic register and audit. Ensuring that all new items are added as required.
- Compiling raw material information to complete finished product export documentation as required
- Managing environmental swabbing regime. Ensuring all testing is carried out as per schedule.
- Collecting raw material samples for microbiological analysis and interpreting the results
- Daily checking and filing of production paperwork.
- Any other task as commensurate with the role.
- Performing traceability exercises with suppliers on a periodic basis
This is a key role in the technical team and experience in a similar role would be beneficial. I You’ll be qualified to level 3 HACCP and will have good knowledge of BRCGS and legislative requirements
It is essential that you are organised, diligent, hands on and able to work under your own initiative. Good communication skills, both written & verbal, are a must. You’ll need to have good knowledge of standard Microsoft Office programs
**Qualifications**:
- Level 3 in both food safety and HACCP (desirable but not essential).
- 1-3 years’ minimum experience in a Technical role, 5 years in food manufacturing.
- Exposure to Retailer codes of Practice / polices and BRC standard
- Lead Auditor (desirable but not essential)
- Train The Trainer (desirable but not essential)
