Westcountry Group is actively looking for a Cabinet Furniture CAD Technician to lead the design, procurement and technical aspects of our new Cabinet/Panel production department. The role is office based from our Andover office.

The successful applicant will have experience in producing accurate, detailed designs for panel (flat packed) furniture, organising the procurement of the panels to suit installation deadlines and managing the component inventory. The role will suit someone who is hungry for more success and actively looking to progress to the next stage of their career. They will be pro-active, self-motivated and meticulous in their attention to detail. This person will fill a key role in the company’s strategic plan to continue the dynamic growth of the business.

This role has potential career progression opportunities to progressing to manager level by leading a team of panel designers and technical staff as the department grows.

The role includes:

- Technical design of panel products including Classroom, Laboratory and Food Tech benching, storage and cabinets
- Liaising with our Interior Design Team to realise the client’s designs in an innovative and intelligent solutions-orientated way.
- Developing the range into a class-leading range of products under our own brand name with constant improvement and development
- Liaising and negotiating with material suppliers regarding products, leadtimes, colour options and components.
- Overseeing the warehouse inventory of components such as gas taps, sinks, taps, fixtures and fittings.

Qualities needed:

- Honesty, Loyalty and Respect
- Qualification and/or significant experience in furniture design
- Ability to read design/construction drawings.
- Experienced in creating 2D and 3D CAD production drawings for panel products
- Strong practical visualisation to enable intelligent design and resolution of panel constructional issues
- Experience in Microsoft Office Applications
- Willingness to take responsibility to see projects through to a final successful completion.
- Dedication to accuracy and meticulous attention to detail
- Strong commitment to genuine customer care

Remuneration package includes a salary of between £35,000 and £37,000 per annum depending on qualification/experience, and inclusion in company bonus scheme.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £35,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
