**Established over 50 years ago, S&S Distribution Limited is part of the wider Palletline group. Palletline delivers to 29 European countries from 96 UK depots. We deliver approximately five million pallets a day and have a combined fleet of over 6,000 vehicles.**

We are now looking for an experienced **Traffic Operations Assistant** to join our friendly and busy S&S Distribution depot in Tonbridge and support the business to continue to build upon their strong foundations of great customer service and operational excellence. With a key focus on forging long term partnerships with all customers being fundamental to the success of the business, the overriding objective is to provide reliable, trustworthy and cost-effective solutions to suit any requirement.

**Overview**

A great opportunity has arisen for someone looking to further build their career in logistics. We are seeking an enthusiastic Traffic Operations Assistant to join our busy operational team, to implement transport plans, acting as the primary point of interaction between the Traffic Office and the Drivers, Loaders and Warehouse.

There is also a necessary close integration with other areas of the business including compliance, therefore you will need to develop and maintain an effective working relationship with other departments. You will also actively support and participate in promoting a positive health and safety culture throughout the business.

**Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities.**
- Pre & Debriefing drivers to a high standard ensure all correct paperwork & information is captured. Ensuring accuracy at all times.
- Support drivers with any queries whilst both on and off site in relation to the work or compliance.
- Handling and following through to completion on any issues that arise.
- Data capture on various internal documents.
- Assist with the forward plan and control of vehicle movements, and highlight any issues to Traffic Manager.
- Building loads on the Transport Management System (TMS).
- Deploying runs on the TMS.
- Arrange backloads and collections.
- Assist with subcontract work as required and manage contractor relationships.
- Offer the highest level of customer service, both internal and external.
- Managing and liaising with drivers to meet our customers’ expectations.
- Maximise loading efficiency through liaison with the warehouse & planning department.
- Support vehicle maintenance and servicing administration as required.
- Cover all traffic administration tasks as required including Booking in collections/deliveries.
- Any other reasonable duties as and when required.
- Ideally some at least one year’s experience in a relevant or similar role.
- Good geographical knowledge of the UK (particularly the South-East of England).
- Some knowledge and understanding of WTD and tachograph legislation.
- Confident IT skills, Excel/Word and in house/TMS software.
- Flexible work ethic.
- Punctual, organised, and methodical.
- Ability to multitask in a time efficient and professional manner.
- Confident and decisive under pressure with a strong desire to succeed
- Team player, with a desire to get involved.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and professional attitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A compliant attitude toward regulations and safety procedures.
- Like variety and have a passion for learning and developing your skills.
- Preferable - full car licence and own transport due to varied shifts.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £27,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
