We are looking for a **Campus Security Officer **to join our **Facilities and Estates** **team** hereat Yeovil College.
This role will involve providing a service that ensures the well-being of staff and learners whilst on campus, covering security, behaviour management, supporting the management of a safe working, and learning environment at the College. Welcoming students, Staff and Visitors in a friendly and supportive manner. To secure premises and personnel by patrolling property; inspecting buildings and access points and only permitting authorised entry, reporting any unusual occurrences. You will patrol and be the friendly face of the site, to ensure compliance with college policies e.g., behaviour, smoking and appropriate college ID. Reporting and escalating any poor behaviour. You will be responsible for the onsite parking, ensuring that all parking is compliant and safe, this will include ticketing for non-compliance.
To maintain the CCTV systems, making sure the systems are fully functional and view records are up to date, in line with GDPR and to report any system issues to IT Services. To be the designated college first aider, including the administration of first aid and completion of accident and/or incident reports in accordance with college procedures, maintaining the colleges first aid supplies, making sure all department prevision is fully stocked and compliant.

To be considered for this role it is essential that you can demonstrate the following:
- Proven experience of working positively with the public.
- Proven experience in encouraging positive behaviour.
- Official, but friendly and welcoming approach.
- GCSE English & Maths at grade C or above (or the equivalent or the willingness to work towards).
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Outstanding incident management skills.
- Approachable but firm approach.
- Ability to quickly defuse situations.
- First Aid qualification (willingness to work towards).

**Salary: Actual - £19,268 (£23,696 FTE)**
**Full time, 37 hours per week, Term Time Only. Shift basis rotation between 8.00am and 18.00pm.**
