Working in a sensitive defence contract environment ensuring a high level of service is maintained that meets client's requirements and displays Securitas' core values of Integrity, Vigilance and Helpfulness.
**Your Responsibilities will include**:
- As part of the site security team you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of security duties where required.
- You must be able to carry out internal / external patrols and other security duties by day and by night, in inclement weather conditions.
- You must be reliable, punctual and must stay well presented at all times.
- You will be required to work in a customer-facing environment and will need to deal with situations politely, tactfully and with discretion.
- Controlling access to site at a number of different control points, vehicle barriers and reception stations.
- Maintaining the security and integrity of the perimeter and site buildings by means of physical and vehicle patrols.
- Ensuring the requirements of visitors to site are being adhered to by access control measures and identification checks.
- Carrying out musters, evacuations and other roles as required in the event of an emergency.
- Searching of vehicles and bags as required to ensure high levels of security are maintained, and meets client requirements.
- Appearance to be of the highest standard at all times in line with Securitas uniform and appearance policy.
- Escort and chaperone VIPs and other visitors as required.
- Perform locking and unlocking duties as detailed in the Assignment Instructions (AIs).
- Display an outstanding level of customer service at all times.
- Report and record any faults, health and safety hazards and unsafe working practices.
- Report instances of property at risk of being lost, stolen, damaged and / or vandalised.
- Ensure all paperwork is completed in a legible fashion.
- Provide a visible and proactive security presence for all on site employees and visitors.
- Registering contractors, issuing temporary badges, book in/out cars and directing visitors.
- Awareness of relevant emergency and escalation procedures and be the first point of contact when an incident occurs.
- Provide a visual and physical deterrent to individuals or groups wanting to gain access to site illegally.
- Control access and egress, conducting security patrols to deter crime.
- Be aware of hazards, react to medical incidents and respond appropriately.
- Manage traffic, including vehicle access, directing flow, signing in and directing visitors.
- Manage the security of classified information and materials, helping to maintain the security of the site conducting internal patrols and car searches.
- Operate the control room/gatehouse and reception systems.
**Essential Skills**
- Valid SIA licence
- Required to be a British National (for BPSS / SC purposes)
- Resident in the UK for at least 5 years
- First Aid at Work
- 5-year checkable history
**Desirable Skills**
- Previous security experience desirable but not essential
- Health and Safety at Work
- Customer Service Training
- CCTV SIA
