We’re advertising an exciting opportunity for a fixed term B7 Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Team Lead, to cover maternity leave. The Speech Therapy Team is going through a period of transformation and you have the chance to take a key role in leading this change, supported by senior management. **Main duties of the job**:

- Provide clear professional leadership, governance and operational management to the team.
- Demonstrate compassionate leadership and empathy to support the teams and the families of the children we work with.
- Utilise well-developed time management and prioritisation skills.
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Provide management supervision to senior members of the teams.
- Maintain high standards within the teams to enable the provision of safe and effective care.
- Demonstrate excellent relationship-building skills with colleagues.

- HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist
- Recognised qualification as a Speech Therapist
- Evidence of relevant post graduate training
- Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists

**Desirable criteria**:

- Clinical supervisor training
- Interview/recruitment training
- Research and development awareness and/or experience
- Audit experience

**Skills**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Significant post-registration experience in a community setting
- Experience of working collaboratively with other disciplines/agencies and across organsiational boundaries
- Extensive knowledge of safeguarding
- Excellent leadership skills
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire others
- Ability to manage and assess risk appropriately
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
