We are looking for a highly skilled Child Development and Occupation Expert to join our team at the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced occupational therapist to work in a dynamic community setting, providing specialist therapy services to children with complex needs.

About the Role

As a Child Development and Occupation Expert, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality occupational therapy assessment and interventions to your caseload of children with highly complex needs. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including education and nursery staff, Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Specialist Teachers, to ensure that children receive the best possible care.

The successful candidate will have advanced clinical reasoning skills in pediatrics, specialist knowledge in anatomy and physiology, and a basic understanding of computers and their applications. You will also have evidence of post-registration experience and relevant postgraduate training or courses in specific clinical areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver specialist occupational therapy assessment and interventions to children with complex needs
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal outcomes for children
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to promote occupation-based practice
  • Contribute to the development of specialist services and policies, ensuring high standards of clinical practice
