IT Network Security specialist

Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.

We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world.

Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains, we are currently seeking an experienced IT Network Security specialist to join HSBC Technology.

This resource will be part of a global team responsible for DDoS, WAF, BOT as well as Internet Service Provider solutions. The team is adopting an agile working approach, empowering our employees, and creating a results driven organization with great collaboration.

Key Accountabilities:

- Deliver and maintain DDoS products both in the cloud and on-premise.
- Maintain the hardware, software, security and connectivity to the internet
- Ability to configure and support F5, DNS, and routing and switching environments.
- Troubleshooting and vendor management in case of error in the environment and functionality
- Collaborate with Cyber SOC to deliver best in class protections. Review attack mitigations and deliver continuous control enhancements.
- Utilize network monitoring tools such as Thousand Eyes, Sevone, HPNA to ensure stability in our network.
- Develop and/or utilize automation capabilites to reduce infrastructure complexity and manual effort.
- Collaborate and communicate with business stakeholders and IT teams

Requirements

**Requirements**:

- Experience of working in external network perimeter environments.
- Knowledge of Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) and Web Application Firewalls (WAF)
- Experienced working with internet circuits and Internet Service Provider DDoS Solutions
- Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills
- Strong networking and collaboration skills
- Strong communication skills
- Strong problem solving, analytical and conceptual skills
- Ability to provide out of hours support during change delivery

Nice to have:

- Experience with the following technologies:

- Application Level & Bot Security Protections: Akamai
- Network Layer DDoS Protections: Radware, Cloud/Akamai
- Cloud WAF products: AWS WAF, Google Cloud Armor, Azure WAF
- Routing & Switching
- IPv6
- Load Balancing: F5
- DNS: Qip, Infoblox, Cloud based services
- Agile methodology experience
- Testing in a network and/or security environment
- Experience working within large-scale enterprise IT environment
- Experience working with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Jenkin, CI/CD
- Experience working with DevOps tools e.g. GitHub, Jira, Confluence
- Quality awareness and a strong understanding of services
