The Domestic Assistant is part of the care team and as such works with other staff and maintains a clean and safe environment for all Service Users and staff.

**Main duties**:

- Promote the Company Mission Statement at all times.
- Ensure the Home’s furniture, furnishings and fittings are sufficiently clean.
- Ensure all surfaces of floors, walls and ceilings are sufficiently clean.
- Clean carpets when necessary.
- Empty wastebaskets and yellow/black bins daily ensuring that waste is disposed of safely in line with the requirements.
- Clean all internal windows monthly.
- Clean all bedrooms thoroughly once a week on a rota basis. Ensure that the communal areas are cleaned daily.
- Ensure all sinks, en-suites, bathrooms and toilets are cleaned daily.
- Chemicals must be stored in line with the COSHH requirements.
- Re-stock paper products and dispensers.

**Person Specification**:
**Professional**
- Have an understanding of the Health and Social Care Act 2008

**Experience**
- Able to demonstrate an ability to manage pressure, prioritise tasks and communicate effectively at all levels
- Genuine interest in working in a social care environment.

**General**
- Demonstrate care and compassion.
- Team player.
- Required to work in a physically and mentally demanding environment.

**Windmill Court Care Home with Nursing**:
Windmill Court is located in the Cornish village of St Minver and is close to Polzeath and Wadebridge town centre. Local shops, library, hairdressers, pharmacy and post office are all within a short driving distance. This purpose built care home provides care for the elderly offering a wide range of care and nursing. Accommodation is provided for 34 residents in single occupancy rooms. All rooms come tastefully furnished and residents are welcome to bring their own furniture to add a homely and familiar touch. The home is equipped with all the usual facilities '“ a 24 hour intercom nurse call system, televisions and telephone points in every room. The home also contains en-suite toilet facilities, bathing aids, assisted shower and well equipped laundry services. The main building is bright and airy with large windows, providing views of the gardens and rural landscape beyond. The spacious dining room is surrounded by a leafy courtyard and a spacious lounge that has comfortable seating. The home also has an on-site hairdressing salon, a sunny conservatory and a secluded patio area. Visitors are welcome at all times but staff kindly ask if meal times could be avoided. The home has a well maintained garden and a secluded patio area for residents to enjoy during summer months. There is also a large car park, which can accommodate up to 20 cars.
