To provide a high quality diagnostic ultrasound service by performing unsupervised scanning sessions. To use analytical and judgemental skills to interpret highly complex operator dependent images, accurately differentiating between normal and abnormal ultrasound appearances. To independently formulate a comprehensive diagnostic report for ultrasound examinations, and to ensure that this is communicated to the appropriate referring clinician. To advise clinicians directly and immediately of any unexpected or critical findings.

To act as a source of expertise to clinicians/other hospital staff. To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
