Vacancy Description

The Public Protection Partnership (PPP) Shared Trading Standards Team is a partnership between Bracknell-Forest Council, West Berkshire Council and Wokingham Borough Council and serves over 450,000 residents.

Within PPP the Trading Standards function is within the Community and Trading Standards team and we work closely with our Environmental Health colleagues to deliver services to consumers and business so there are opportunities to work with colleagues in other professions to enhance work experiences. The team is supported by an intelligence team, case management unit and financial investigation team.

We are seeking 2 highly motivated Trading Standards Officers to join our team who have all round experience in all aspects of Trading Standards work. You will need to hold the Diploma in Trading Standards or DCATS with 70 pts including food and metrology.

We have offices at Newbury, Theale and Bracknell but the base for these positions will be located at the Theale Gateway office but there will be the opportunity to work in other offices. In addition we also offer flexible working arrangements.

This role requires the incumbent to have a car available at work to undertake his/her duties as they will be expected to undertake at least 1500 business miles per year. Essential Car User status attracts a lump sum allowance paid on a monthly basis as well as a free car parking space if he/she works at one of the Council’s corporate buildings.
