Our trainee scheme will mean that, not only will you earn while you learn, you will have an opportunity to gather a wide range of experience by joining a team that works over more than one authority and delivers a very broad range of services.

The Public Protection Partnership (PPP) is a shared service working on behalf of both Bracknell Forest and West Berkshire Councils and we have contracts with neighboring and other public sector authorities too. The work the team does includes environmental protection, air quality, fair trading, legal services, food safety, animal health, housing standards, taxi and alcohol licensing, and much more. We also share services with Wokingham Borough Council to deliver trading standards and other specialist services in the Borough. The traineeship will provide a unique opportunity to learn about and work with officers across these wide ranging areas.

We are looking to recruit a trainee to undertake a Level 4 apprenticeship and start you on a pathway to becoming an officer in one of the specialisms in this very interesting area of work. The apprenticeship scheme provides opportunities to work through a range of grades, with the support of your mentor, in a relatively short space of time. The first grade review is at six months dependent on progress where progression to Grade E is possible. Ultimately you could go on to specialise and progress to fully qualified officer status in a given field.
