Wilsons Carpets are looking for a **Retail Team Leader **at **The Gateway, Parkgate, Rotherham, S62 6JL**

**Package**

**Salary** : OTE £32,000 per annum inclusive of commission and bonus incentives

**Contract**: Full Time, Permanent

**Hours**: 40 hours per week - Any 5 days out of 7 (Monday to Sunday - rota set by the company)

**Key responsibilities**
- Assisting and advise customers when purchasing from a wide range and variety of quality floor covering to include carpets, rugs, laminate flooring and artificial grasses/ Beds and Furniture
- Issuing quotes to customers
- Processing customer sales
- Ensuring all products and materials that are ordered and are in stock
- Adhering to cash handling and banking procedures
- Responsible for ensuring and maintaining the store is kept clean and tidy in line with corporate requirements and standards
- Responsible for ensuring that the daily checklist is completed
- Follow company policies and procedures and One Best Wilson's Ways
- Handle customer complaints and queries
- Ensure safe working practices are observed
- Ensure all internal communications are read and understood and distributed to team
- Key holder responsibilities, ensuring that the store is secure, and that opening / closing rotas are in place
- Train & Develop new starters following induction process
- Delivering KPIs
- Actively demonstrate the Wilsons Vision & Values working by example
- Any other duties as directed by senior managers
- Effective creation of weekly rotas
- Responsible for banking and adhering to cash handling and banking procedures
- Responsible for staff rotas and welfare issues on a day to day basis
- Uploading & Complying to company policies & procedures, SOPs/ Employees handbook
- Attend management meetings as and when required
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations / company health & safety policy including accident report and near misses
- Any other duties as directed by senior managers
- Professional appearance
- Ability to observe team members and ability to give direction and feedback to team members
- Identifying training needs
- Implementing effective coaching and training
- Communication conduit between senior management and store team
- Maintain and demonstrate a professional appearance of self and team
- Responsible for maintaining and securing both property and stock and reporting any shrinkage issues and concerns
- Sharing of best practice
- Working with the area management team to develop/ improve process procedures and standards

**Competencies/Key Skills Required**
- Extensive experience in customer service in the flooring / Bed / Furniture industry
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to use own initiative
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent numerical skills
- Organisation skills with an eye for attention to detail
- Ability to engage with customers effectively
- Health & Safety compliant
- Computer literate
- Driving license preferred
- Ability to keep up to date with product knowledge and trends
- Proven ability to create a positive working environment
- Ability to motivate teams
- Coaching and Training skills
- Excellent merchandising skills
