Our client has an exciting opportunity for a **Head Buyer** to join the team.

Location: Midlands - hybrid working

Job Type/Hours: Full Time

**About The Company**:
Our client is a family run metal recycling organisation, with over 40 years’ experience serving customers across the UK. They purchase and process scrap metal alongside providing a delivery and collection service to their clients which covers scrap merchants,manufacturers as well as members of the public. They have recently invested in new state of the art equipment, keeping themselves at the forefront of the industry.

Due to their ambitious plans for the business, they are looking to bring on board a Head Buyer who will play a key part in the organisation’s future growth.

**Head Buyer** - The Role:
The role will lead on all purchasing and sales activity, utilising their experience and knowledge of the metal recycling space to help drive the growth of the organisation. It will get involved in building and managing supplier relationships, technical salesand when required visit sites to assess (and buy) new product.

**Head Buyer** - Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement the buying strategy for the business, working closely with other departments including sales and customer service
- Act as an ambassador for the business
- Utilise existing contacts with the metal recycling space and continue to grow and develop your network
- Develop and negotiate contracts with suppliers

**Head Buyer** - You:

- Min. 5-10 years’ experience within the metal recycling space including but not limited to batteries, ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals and catalytic converters
- Strong track record of monitoring, delivering and evaluating quality goods
- Ability to communicate effectively
